Queen Elizabeth is dead and the whole of Britain is in mourning.

As the people say goodbye, a dispute over the Queen's crown ensues.

London – The death of the Queen puts Great Britain in a state of emergency, the people can currently say goodbye to the monarch.

Before that, the coffin was carried from Buckingham Palace to the oldest part of Britain's Parliament in a funeral procession, which included the new King Charles III, his siblings and sons.

Clearly visible on the coffin: the Queen's magnificent crown.

But a dispute seems to be brewing about exactly this crown.

After the death of Queen Elizabeth: a dispute over the crown erupts – the country demands that the jewels be returned

The people have been able to say goodbye to the queen since Wednesday afternoon, the queue had already stretched over several kilometers on the first day.

While Great Britain and many people across national borders mourn the monarch, an old dispute over the Queen's crown seems to be flaring up again.

The heart of the dispute: the valuable Kohinoor diamond that was used in the queen's crown.

The Queen's extremely valuable crown is usually kept in the Tower of London.

There it can be viewed alongside the other crown jewels.

The crown is only taken out of the museum for special occasions, such as the Queen's death.

Among other things, the crown could be seen in the funeral procession: the valuable piece of jewelry was transported on a cushion on the coffin of the deceased Queen.

But as numerous media are now reporting, many people from India are said to be demanding the return of the valuable Kohinoor diamond.

Queen's crown subject of discussion - country demands voluntary surrender

The valuable diamond was processed in the queen's crown.

Many people from India are now demanding on social networks that the diamond, which originally came from India, be returned to India after the death of the Queen.

In 1849, during the Sikh Wars, the diamond became the property of the British East India Company, after which it was passed on to Queen Victoria of Great Britain.

Just a few years ago, India filed legal claims to the diamond, as

reports.

As the portal further reports, the Indian Ministry of Culture has since relied on the British giving up the valuable gemstone voluntarily.

So far, however, this has not happened.
