Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei has warned that sending Western monitors to the border between Ukraine and Belarus will drag third countries into the Ukraine conflict.
"I agree here with the assessment made by the Russian side that if observers from Western countries are sent to the borders of Belarus and Ukraine, this will in fact mean the involvement of these countries in the Ukrainian conflict," Russia Today quoted Macki as saying.
At the end of September, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko rejected the accusations against Minsk of joint aggression against Ukraine, noting that his country would remain an ally of Moscow within the framework of the Russian-Belarus union.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky had earlier asked the G7 countries to support the idea of deploying international monitors on the borders of Ukraine and Belarus.
