Ukraine war: UN General Assembly condemns Russian annexations by a large majority

143 of the 193 member states of the UN condemn Moscow's recent annexations in Ukraine as illegal. The decision is not binding under international law, but it shows Russia's clear international isolation.

The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly condemned Russia's illegal annexations of Ukraine.

143 of the 193 member states voted in favor of a corresponding resolution in the largest body of the United Nations in New York on Wednesday, five countries voted against, 35 abstained.

The decision is not binding under international law, but it shows Moscow's clear international isolation.
