The DPRK confirmed that South Korea had committed "provocative actions" at the border between the two countries, noting that the actions of the South Korean army were causing "military tensions."
"The artillery of the South Korean army was firing for about 10 hours near the advanced defensive zone of the 5th Corps of the Korean People's Army," the DPRK's official Korean Central News Agency quoted a DPRK military spokesman as saying in a statement today.
"The Korean People's Army took strong countermeasures in response to the provocative actions," the spokesman added, while warning Seoul of stirring up military tension in the front-line region through reckless actions.
