Kanye West: Anti-Semitism or severe distress? | Israel today

Kanye West's anti-Semitic remarks only emphasized the fact that the man is crying out for help "You must be wondering, 'Did he smoke something before he went on stage?' "You must be wondering, 'Did he smoke something before he went on stage?'

And the answer is yes, I rolled something to dull the edge," Kanye West proudly said in his rambling 11-minute acceptance speech at the 2015 MTV Awards, as the crowd cheered enthusiastically.

A year later, the producers of the ceremony invited him again, on the première of a new music video.

And once again they gave him a platform for an incoherent monologue, during which he compared himself to the geniuses of the generation such as Walt Disney and Steve Jobs.

They did.

In recent years he has also compared himself to God, Jesus, Martin Luther King, Leonardo da Vinci.

And oh, yes, to Adolf Hitler too.

"I walk down the street and people look at me like I'm fucking crazy, like I'm Hitler," he joked to the audience at a concert in England in 2011.

A few weeks after that event at the MTV ceremony, West was involuntarily hospitalized in a mental health center in Los Angeles, after apparently suffering from "temporary psychosis" and a nervous breakdown characterized by hallucinations, outbursts of rage and paranoia.

In retrospect, he excused the hospitalization as a side effect of opioid addiction he received after liposuction surgery.

And cosmetic surgeries in general are a well-known trigger, since his mother Donda died in 2007 a day after undergoing a series of cosmetic surgeries, and the crisis shook him mentally.

In recent weeks, West has ramped up his hate speech on social media.

This time the Jewish community was in the crosshairs.

But it would be inaccurate to call West anti-Semitic.

And not a racist or a provocateur.

True, he suffers from boundless megalomania and megalomania that has probably gotten worse since he left the Kardashians' hive after the high-profile divorce from Kim.

But now it seems that the reins have been completely released without the PR system of the first family of the reality show and social networks, which still managed to moderate the stormy temper a little.

Because West never had self control.

Not even just common sense, if you check the announcements that Spitzer has made over the years;

Not with the claims that millions in debt turned him into an alleged billionaire overnight.

Not in the reports in the tabloids about a photogenic relationship with some young models, who were attached to him to boost his business stock and the number of followers on Instagram.

And certainly not in the cuckoo presidential race, which was recorded as one of America's peaks of disgrace in the previous elections.

Watching West evokes a feeling that the man is in deep distress.

And instead of condemning, blocking and canceling, one should understand that he is crying out for help.

And if you wondered why the beauties of the soul in Hollywood are not in a hurry to publicly condemn his anti-Semitic statements, the answer is that they know very well that it is not worth adding more hot air to the storm around a person who in general needs treatment.
