Damascus-SANA

(We try, despite the distress, not to cry, but we cannot not miss), from here the idea that touched the heart of the heart began, an attempt to achieve an intellectual impact that digs deep into the conscience through theatrical performance (chirping).

The show (chirping) was launched by the Directorate of Theaters and Music at the Ministry of Culture this evening on the stage of Al-Hamra Theater in Damascus, and it is the text that won first place in the Arab Theater Authority competition in 2020 entitled (Imagination and Writing Out of Style) by the Syrian writer Rawaa Sonbol.

(I want to live..) It was the spirit and essence of the show that embodied the suffering of the Syrian citizen during the terrorist war and the psychological effects and obsessions that it left behind, in which it oscillates between fantasy and reality, this was explained by the show’s director, Ajaj Selim, in a statement to SANA.

He pointed out that the text is written in a postmodern style by integrating multiple elements of poetry, music, cinema, sound effects, music and dance arts, drawing inspiration from poems from the writings of poet Riad Saleh Al Hussein.

And about the story of the show between Selim that she is talking about a woman who lost her only son and was paralyzed by a shell that fell in the garden when she took him to her to spend some fun time after her husband emigrated to the countries of expatriation in search of work, but this incident planted in herself pain that turned into hallucinations and obsessions, and the events unfolded. Through the show, to reveal the bitter truth and turn the roles at the end of the show through a deep emotional style filled with pain, nostalgia, love and guilt in a creative expressive way.

In his turn, the actor Walid Al-Debs, one of the participants in the show, stated that the show embodies the internal conflict of every human being through a psychological crisis that exacerbates in the self to turn into a disease and obsessions that recur in memory like the croaking of frogs and possessed by his emotions to the point of extinction. This idea touches the Syrian pain left by the terrorist war in the hearts of Syrians.

The able theatrical actor Ali al-Qasim pointed out that (Naqiq) carries ideas that shed light on the Syrian will, which oscillates between strength and adherence to life to the last, despite the difficult circumstances during the years of war, and between drowning in obsessions and hopes made by the human soul when it is weak.

He explained that literature, poetry, theater and all cultural arts are a bridge to deliverance from the effects of pain and suffering left by the war because it paints sentimental thoughts and feelings and frees them from painful memory and takes them to the paths of art and creativity.

Actress Nada Al-Abdullah, who embodied the character of Wafa, the mother of the heroine's husband, Mai, indicated that the show expresses the pain of the Syrian woman in particular and in most of its details, including her loss of the father, husband, and children, and the great burdens and responsibilities she bore under the difficult circumstances.

It is noteworthy that the theatrical show, which will last for two weeks, will be starring Reem Zino, Nada Al-Abdullah, Walid Al-Debs, Alice Rashid and Inas Rashid.
