The delegations of the Palestinian factions signed the “Algeria Declaration,” which will serve as a solid ground for achieving unity among the various Palestinian factions, at the conclusion of the conference “Reunification for Palestinian Unity,” hosted by Algeria.
The Algerian News Agency stated that "the leaders and representatives of the Palestinian factions signed today the Algeria Declaration of Reunification in order to achieve Palestinian unity," noting that the signing ceremony took place at the Palace of Nations under the supervision of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and in the presence of state officials, members of the government and the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.
In turn, the Algerian president said in a statement after signing the Algeria Declaration: “Today is a historic day and the Palestinian factions have fulfilled the desire of the Palestinian people,” expressing his hope for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
For his part, the Palestinian ambassador to Algeria, Fayez Mahmoud Abu Aita, explained that the declaration stresses the importance of national unity as a basis for resisting the Israeli occupation and the commitment of the forces and factions to developing and expanding popular resistance and the right of the Palestinian people to resist in all its forms, in addition to consecrating the principle of political partnership between the various Palestinian forces through elections.
The ambassador expressed his thanks for the Algerian efforts that led to the declaration that ends the Palestinian division and achieves national reconciliation.
For their part, the leaders and heads of delegations of the Palestinian factions affirmed that Algeria's hosting of the Palestinian reunification conference is conclusive evidence that Algeria was and will continue to be a support for the Palestinian people to determine their destiny and establish their independent state.
