Several people were killed Thursday, including an off-duty police officer, after a mass shooting in a Raleigh, North Carolina, neighborhood, said NBC News affiliate WRAL television in that city.
Police patrols and an ambulance went to the scene of the attack around 5:30 (local time), while a hospital in the area confirmed that it had received several wounded.
It is not clear the number of dead or injured at the moment.
Nor the cause of the attack.
The suspect
has not been taken into custody and the authorities are working on his search while asking the community to stay safe.
