Writer Jamal Traboulsi signed his collection of short stories “Tales of Al-Bilasan” during a ceremony held by the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo at the Cultural Center in Aziziyah.
The critical reading presented by the lecturer at Aleppo University, Shem Dababo, stated that the story collection is characterized by a realistic recording of events, and documented the scenes with the eyes and language of the writer, noting that the narration in the “Tales of Al-Baylasan” collection is an open-range depiction in which the reader immerses himself and unites with the scene and becomes part of it to transform in Some positions to another narrator enjoy the components of the picture more than he cares about the plot line or what ends up in the event.
It showed that the aesthetic state left by open narrations differs from the aesthetic state formed by the narration, and it coordinates its elements perfectly, and weaves it with time, place, characters and events, a plot that provokes the reader's emotion, an emotion that includes the mental and emotional state.
The writer Jamal Traboulsi said in a statement to SANA reporter that the collection is narrations from the time of nostalgia and rain. It includes a group of parts, a part documenting the environment and lifestyles in the Syrian countryside, and another documenting the war and its repercussions on people’s lives and the identity of the city, while the most important part documents the farmer’s concerns and suffering in The shadow of the feudal system in Syria before the union with Egypt, as well as a collection of stories about love and life.
Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, pointed out that the Syrian Ministry of Culture is always interested in intellectual and literary activities, especially with regard to book signing ceremonies, because of their importance in supporting writers and the continuation of their brilliant intellectual fabric in the city of Aleppo.
