Kherson Province Governor Vladimir Saldo announced the evacuation of civilians from the right bank of the province to the left bank of the Dnieper River after Kyiv forces threatened to bomb the Kakhovskaya Hydroelectric Station.
TASS news agency quoted Saldo as saying in a tweet on his account on the Telegram website that there is an immediate danger of land flooding after Kyiv forces threatened to destroy the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and drain water from a series of power plants in the upper Dnieper River.
Saldo added that in this case the correct decision is the orderly evacuation of the civilian population in the municipalities of Pereslavsky, Belozersky, Snegirovsky and Alexandrovsky on the left bank of the Dnieper River, indicating the transfer, voluntary change and departure of residents to those areas, and all this work will be carried out in an orderly manner and will be free of charge.
At least four people were killed and three others wounded in a Ukrainian bombing of a civilian bus in the southern Russian city of Kherson.
