Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that his country will transfer its diplomatic center of gravity to countries willing to cooperate with it on the basis of mutual benefit, equality and the search for promising joint projects.
"There is no sense or desire to maintain the same Russian diplomatic presence in Western countries," TASS news agency quoted Lavrov as saying during a meeting with university graduates who were accepted into the diplomatic corps for the first time today.
He added: "Our employees work in conditions that are difficult to describe as human and are exposed to constant problems and threats of physical attacks. The important thing is that there is no work there because Europe decided to close us and stop any economic cooperation."
Lavrov noted that "many Russian diplomats, due to the anti-Western policy, stopped their work trips abroad ahead of schedule."
He noted that "the United States, Europe and Western countries have sided with those who want to revive Nazism in Ukraine," noting that we see many confirmations of our assessment in this regard. In Asia, Africa and Latin America, more attention is needed, as many plans are agreed upon at the highest levels that require diplomatic support, including business support for joint cultural, humanitarian and educational projects.”
Lavrov stated that Russia has been asserting for years the inadmissibility of creating threats to its security and directly on its borders, pointing out that the Kyiv regime during the past several years has persecuted and banned the Russian language, education, media, culture and much more. None of our “Western colleagues” bothered to utter a word in defense of those oppressed by the perpetrators of the anti-constitutional coup in Ukraine, just as Western journalists did not once bother to see or visit the Donbass during these eight years.
