Twelve people were injured of varying degrees due to serious turbulence suffered this Wednesday during an Aerolineas Argentinas flight from Madrid to Buenos Aires.

Nine passengers were treated for minor injuries and three others had to be taken to a hospital after landing in the Argentine capital at 04:30 in the morning, according to the airline.

Flight AR1133 from Barajas airport suffered "severe turbulence over the Atlantic Ocean near Brazil," Aerolineas Argentinas said in a statement.

The aircraft also suffered internal damage to the cabin "due to the collision of the passengers' heads with the ceiling."

The company pointed out that the sign that asked to put on the seat belt was on and the turbulence announcement had been made, but that the most affected passengers were not wearing their seat belts.

However, on social networks, several passengers have denied that version and have denied that the warning light was on.

Travelers have accompanied their testimony with images in which trays and clothes are seen lying on the floor of the aircraft.

I didn't say anything but I was on this flight.

I have hardly said anything to those close to me.

I have been one of the most affected and possibly have a broken septum.

I hit my head on the ceiling and broke it.

Yes, I had my seatbelt on at 7 o'clock and just when I took it off it happened, but THERE WAS NO NOTICE.

“There was some turbulence in which we were not told to put on our seatbelts and everyone went flying.

Even the stewardesses down the aisle.

These damages in the plane are made with the head.

The last 7 hours of flight a fucking nightmare, “Valencian Adrián Torres wrote on Twitter.
