These days, spectacular maneuvers are taking place over the North Sea, Belgium and the United Kingdom.

On this occasion, the NATO pilots "

flex their muscles

": they direct their plane, launched at high speed, in the direction of their target before climbing abruptly to an altitude of around 1200 meters in order to be able to drop the atomic bomb without be caught in the wave of the explosion and come back down.

Organized over two weeks by 14 NATO countries, this exercise begins on Monday and is part of the "Steadfast Noon" maneuvers that the Alliance organizes each year in October.

The soldiers train on this occasion to transport nuclear bombs from underground depots and to mount them on fighter planes.

In the air, the attack made up of red squadrons faces the defense provided by blue bombers.

They simulate the dropping of an atomic bomb.
