In the event of a hundred-year flood like the one in the Ahr valley, the whole of Unterbiberg would probably be under water.

Busy times also enliven some official citizen dialogue - as happened at the district citizens' meeting in Unterbiberg.
Unterbiberg
- With the difficult infrastructural buffer location between the mother community, the Bundeswehr University and the Perlacher gateway to the city, Unterbiberg has been groaning under a wide variety of problems and open challenges for years.
Mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU) showed in solidarity with the citizens that problems from traffic to flood protection are being tackled with verve.
Either live in the auditorium of the primary school or in essential parts via online stream in a contemporary way.
Direct bus connection
There were plenty of interfaces between the statements made by the head of town hall during his ambitious 90-minute tour de force through the subject worlds of a community in transition and the concerns of the citizens.
The wish of many is the reintroduction of a direct bus connection to Unterbiberg.
Like District Administrator Christoph Göbel in his greetings, Pardeller also referred to planned public transport pilot projects for alternative routes and extensions, which, however, still have to be evaluated.
The mayor offered the applicants a "quick fix as an interim solution" if necessary, which is currently being examined by the municipality.
The aim is to establish a flowing "on-demand traffic" as a permanent facility.
Pardeller advertised to his party friend Göbel for Neubiberg and Unterbiberg as one of the possible pilot test tracks.
However, the district administrator does not want to commit himself here yet, he said in his speech.
Lack of public buildings
The subject of the “climate ticket” shows that local public transport is a hot topic for the residents of Unterbiberg.
People can secure an MVV day ticket for the entire network for one euro.
"The demand is great," reveals Pardeller.
But the Unterbibergers don't just want to pick up their tickets from the administration at the station.
"We need our own office in Unterbiberg," was the demand.
Difficult to realize, according to Pardeller, given the obvious lack of public buildings in the district.
"We are dependent on your suggestions."
Worry about flood disasters
Speaking of the climate: many people in Unterbiberg worry about possible flood disasters in their own area.
"In the case of a hundred-year flood like in the Ahr valley, the whole of Unterbiberg would probably be under water," agreed the mayor and demanded a drastic collective rethink from the local neighbors (we reported).
Designation of new floodplains, a digital terrain model - according to Pardeller, "far too little has happened so far" inter-communally.
As a community, you also reserve the right to act alone or to close ranks with Munich.
Regarding the question of the development of the chapel field (in the area close to the city north of Infineon), the mayor said: This must be an “ecological showcase project.
Rural town center
There were also ideas about further revitalization in Unterbiberg.
"Further upgrading of the old rural town center and more space for special areas for research and development further east in the 'new' Unterbiberg" set Pardeller as the standard for thought.
Applicants wished for "ecological improvements in the green area around Vivamus".
The approval of the application to plant the lawn sections there more lushly and to upgrade the adjacent pond ecologically and optically was unanimous.

subject of private transport.
The citizens' demand for a "universally the same speed limit" along the Autobahn gave Pardeller little hope.
"Not legally permissible" was the negative decision from the motorway authority.
Others called for more safety on the way to school in the district.
nose in front of elementary school
Opinions differed on the subject of plant troughs as slowdown barriers in play streets.
A public request that has been raised repeatedly to remove the traffic constriction ("nose") opposite the Unterbiberg elementary school met with a mixed response, as in earlier times - in favor of more traffic flow for some, as a safety deficit for others.
"The traffic planners will go over it again and work out suggestions," promised Pardeller.
The public's wish for the dismantling of the barrier fences in the course of the new Bundeswehr buildings probably remains unfulfilled.
"In view of the current security situation, no chance," said university vice president Karl-Heinz Renner.
They still want to open up: “With a number of events” to mark the 50th anniversary of the Bundeswehr University in the coming year.
At least temporarily, they said.
