A Palestinian who was shot by IDF soldiers near Qalqilya died of his wounds in the hospital, officials at the Palestinian hospital reported this evening (Saturday). The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in its announcement that the dead man was Rabi Arafa, 32 years old, and that he was shot in the head. The dead man's father said to the Palestinian media that his son was on his way to work.
The IDF spokesperson issued a statement earlier that three illegal residents crossed the seam line near the city of Qalkaliya, and were picked up there by a vehicle.
"The IDF force acted to delay the fleeing vehicle.
During the escape of the suspects, the vehicle hit an IDF soldier and the force opened fire on him," the statement said.
The fighter did not need medical treatment.
The IDF spokesperson also stated that the allegation of injury is known, and that the incident is being investigated.

Today a young Palestinian, 16-year-old Muhammad Kataish, stabbed a 20-year-old Jew in Jerusalem who was seriously injured.
Abu Kataish was shot by a policeman after a chase and was moderately injured.
Palestinian media reported that soldiers arrived at Abu Kataish's home in the Shoafat refugee camp, and arrested his father and brother.
