Did he beat up his former girlfriend?

Jérôme Boateng (34) is currently facing charges of bodily harm before the district court, and his bodyguards take him to the criminal justice center every day.

There, the two giants are said to have illegally filmed a witness - the judiciary is now investigating the incident.

Munich – fuss about the Boateng bodyguards: The two men who accompany the football star to the criminal justice center on trial days have now caused a serious incident.

According to a witness, they are said to have illegally filmed the woman on Friday.

And against her will.

The judiciary takes the incident seriously and has now initiated investigations.

The witness plays an important role in the criminal proceedings against the former FC Bayern Munich defender: she testified that she had seen Boateng beat up his former partner on vacation in the Caribbean in 2018.

"Jérôme hit her with his fists," said Vanessa W. on Friday - and thus confirmed her first statement from September 2021. The district court later sentenced Boateng to a fine of 1.8 million euros.

Boateng in court in Munich: witness feels "threatened" by his bodyguards

The appeal process is now running at the regional court, because the football star had appealed and denies the allegations to this day.

That's why Vanessa M. had to testify again.

But she also stated how stressful the situation as a witness was when strangers were also filming you.

"You're just afraid," she said - "that you will be threatened or your family will be threatened," said the acquaintance of Boateng's former partner.

The woman accompanied the ex-couple on a Caribbean vacation in 2018.

According to the indictment, Boateng is said to have become violent against his former partner.

In the district court, judicial officials immediately took action against the Boateng bodyguards after the witness felt threatened by them.

The public prosecutor requested that the personal details be determined on the grounds that "there could be a criminal offense or the preparation of a criminal offense".

After determining the personal details, Boateng's lawyers emphasized that a "security service, which also looked after Mr. Boateng yesterday", only "determined the environment" in order to be able to evaluate "Boateng's security situation".

It was a pure "object clarification" and the witness was not targeted and only filmed from behind.

Munich: Jérôme Boateng is said to have beaten his girlfriend – the verdict is due on November 2nd

The criminal trial will now be continued on November 2nd, when the verdict will also be passed.

Jérôme Boateng faces a fine or suspended sentence if convicted.

Judge Andreas Forstner had pointed out in the process that his verdict could be even higher than in the first process.

But Boateng categorically rejected the offer of a shortcut to his process.

He also does not want to withdraw parts of his appointment under any circumstances.

Reason: He could not "reconcile that with his conscience."
