Anyone who is a member of an airline's frequent flyer club can choose between upgrading their seat, receiving a discount when renting a car, a hotel room, entering a lounge or purchasing a flight ticket to a routine destination such as Berlin or Amsterdam.
At Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic airline company, known as a company that thinks outside the box, they decided to take the issue of accumulating points to another world - straight to outer space.
The company offers passengers who manage to accumulate 2 million points in its frequent flyer club the opportunity to participate in a particularly limited lottery, the winner of which will receive a flight ticket to space worth 450 thousand dollars with the Virgin Galactic spacecraft, which is expected to start operating commercial flights during the second quarter of next year.

If you want to start accumulating points for a flight from Israel, you will have to fly 72 times to New York in the Upper Class class or about 1,200 times in the tourist class.
The lucky winner will undergo a space flight preparation course, at the end of which he will be launched with the spacecraft for a two-hour tour of outer space, during which he will experience at least 5 minutes of weightlessness.
By the way, if you have 2 million points in the Virgin club and you didn't win the extraordinary award, don't worry - you can still redeem them, but in the form of 20 flights in economy class to New York or 16 flights in business class.
It is important to note that starting in January 2023, with the entry of Virgin Atlantic into the prestigious SkyTeam airline alliance, the scope of accumulating flight points for Israelis will be much higher.
