The Federal Cabinet gives the green light for the tax-free EUR 3,000 bonus that every employee can receive.
How to get the extra money.
Stuttgart – Groceries, fuel and soon also the expensive heating costs – many consumers in Baden-Württemberg and throughout Germany will continue to face enormous costs.
It feels like there isn't an everyday product that hasn't been affected in some way by the energy and price crises.
This is also reflected in the current rate of inflation, "the euro will become the new lira," writes a Facebook user.
In order to relieve consumers, the federal government has decided on a number of measures, reports

Cabinet approves tax-free inflation premium: How to get the money
The €300 energy flat rate is to be paid out from September, and students and pensioners will also benefit from it from December.
Aid such as the heating cost subsidy for certain citizens are relief measures that are not paid to everyone, but only granted to certain groups of people.
The inflation compensation of up to 3,000 euros is not included, the extra money can be drawn in principle by all employees.
However, the EUR 3,000 bonus is a voluntary benefit, i.e. the employer is not obliged to do so.
During the debate about the bonus, Employer President Rainer Dulger had already emphasized in the Chancellery that not all companies will be able to afford the one-off payment.
"The 3,000 euros are not a sure-fire success." Nevertheless, it can be worth trying to talk to your employer to get the extra money.

The federal government states that this premium can also be paid in several installments.
In addition, 3,000 euros is the maximum amount – smaller amounts are also possible.
However, if companies decide to pay the money, they need to consider a few important points (more consumer news on

Although the inflation adjustment is tax and social security-free, there are small formalities to be observed:
The inflation adjustment is limited until December 31, 2024.
The bonus can be paid all at once or in several installments via the salary.
The inflation compensation premium must be granted in addition to the wages that are already owed.
Deductions or offsetting against the gross salary are not permitted.
The employer must make it clear that the premium is actually granted to compensate for inflation.
Holiday or Christmas bonuses cannot be converted.
The extra money is therefore not included in the gross-net calculation in the payroll.
This is one of the reasons why Finance Minister Christian Lindner praises the relief that is anchored in the traffic light coalition's third relief package, which

reports on extensively.
"The economy needs flexibility to deal with the crisis," writes the FDP politician on Twitter.

On the federal government's Facebook page, he posts: "Many employers are also fighting for their existence!
Where is the money supposed to come from?” Immediately below, a user adds: “No employers with smaller companies can afford that.” “In Germany there are more than four million taxable solo self-employed.
Likewise, numerous companies with one employee.
Which pot should they lift it from?” adds another.
Many users in the Facebook community also complain that the 3,000 euros have to be paid separately by the employer and cannot be offset against Christmas or vacation pay.
"Millions of people would benefit from it and it doesn't hurt the employer," writes a Facebook user.
Another user would have liked the money to be offset against income tax.
