Is Nuremberg a liveable city?

Of course, everyone has to judge that for themselves.

A debate has now started on the internet – some of which have extreme opinions.

Nuremberg - It is the second largest city in Bavaria, the fourteenth largest in Germany: Nuremberg.

Located on the Pegnitz, the Franconian metropolis has a number of sights to offer: The Lorenz Church, the castle, the Nazi Party Rally Building and the Frauenkirche attract many tourists year after year.

But how is life actually in Nuremberg?

A sharp debate has now flared up on the popular "Jodel" platform after a user made the city appear in a less than bright light.

Nuremberg: "Rough ugly and antisocial?" Violent discussion about the Franconian metropolis erupted

"Somehow I didn't get warm with Nuremberg, but I've been here for almost a year now..." writes the unknown user, adding brutally: "I just find this city really ugly and antisocial." A reason is also provided in the comment column .

Accordingly, "enough funny characters would be walking around", and the students from Erlangen and the "Simensians" would be missing.

Countless comments take part in the discussion, which is about: Is Nuremberg really "ugly ugly"?

One thing is clear: Opinions differ significantly.

Nuremberg "very ugly"?

Hearty debate sparked - but dissenting voices were not long in coming

For example, one person reports that they have lived in the city “half their life” and also “find it very ugly”.

Another commentator says: "Generally little atmosphere, parks well, culture limited, shopping street no different than anywhere else." But the very critical opinions are in the minority.

For example, one person writes: “Then you are not traveling with the right people or in the right places.” Another says: “I come from Berlin and Nuremberg is beautiful in comparison.

This year I was in the Rhine-Ruhr area and all the cities there were uglier than Nuremberg.”

Another does not agree with the sharp criticism of the city and has a tip ready for all those who do not feel quite so comfortable in Nuremberg: “Make many trips to Franconian Switzerland, Rothsee, Brombachsee and explore the area.

Now, after four years, I live in a suburb of Nuremberg and I'm happy.” So it should be clear: the opinion of the Nuremberg critic is of course very subjective and doesn't really reflect the reality in the Franconian metropolis.

Nevertheless, the topic seems to be quite explosive among young people.

Either way: Anyone who really knows Nuremberg certainly appreciates the Franconian metropolis.
