How do you rate the series?
I understand very well that it is necessary to take liberties with history to achieve what are called biopics, but this is a grotesque caricature.
As a historian, I am embarrassed that viewers believe that this series accurately reflects the times.
Was Marie Antoinette, as the series presents it, avant-garde?
On the contrary, the Dauphine, then the Queen, has very classic ideas - she will show it during the Revolution.
She simply considered that as sovereign she had the right to lead her life as she saw fit.
This will earn him the hostility of the court.
Marie-Antoinette is a mirror woman, in which the fantasies of the time are reflected, from her time to the present day.
Next to this series, Sofia Coppola's film seems to me to be a masterpiece!
