Dozens blocked the entrance to the capital in protest that Shin Bet detainees are not allowed to talk to a lawyer • The demonstrators clashed with the police

Dozens of demonstrators in protest of the Shin Bet detainees arrived this evening (Sunday) at the entrance to Jerusalem and blocked the roads, the demonstrators clashed with the police on the spot.

As a reminder, the Jerusalem District Attorney and the Shin Bet extended by 5 days the exceptional order prohibiting Shin Bet detainees from meeting with a lawyer.

Two detainees in their twenties were arrested on Tuesday night, on suspicion of having helped the Jewish residents of the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood to defend their home about two weeks ago after they were attacked by an Arab mob, without the police providing them with assistance.

Since their arrest, the detainees have been under investigation by the Shin Bet and they are forbidden to see a lawyer.

The protests began last week in front of the district court, where the police tried to disperse the demonstration and clashes began with the demonstrators.

Last night, hundreds of demonstrators took part in a protest in front of the Russian field in Jerusalem under the title "A country in madness - an Arab seriously injures a Jew and has just been questioned by the police, Jews arrested by the Shin Bet on suspicion of terrorism", the protestors called to allow the Jewish detainees in the Shin Bet to see a lawyer.
