Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrinin stressed that his country does not plan to attack anyone, and that the joint regional group of Russian and Belarusian forces is purely defensive.
Russia Today website quoted Khrinin as saying: "We will not attack anyone, especially since the joint regional group of Russian and Belarusian forces is purely defensive, and all measures are aimed at an appropriate response to what is happening near our borders."
He stressed that the applied and planned strategic deterrence measure by the armed forces indicates the readiness to defend the homeland and harm the aggressors, noting that there is still the possibility of using Western decision-making centers, particularly the United States and NATO (NATO) methods of force. To achieve its goals, and in proportion to the growing pressure from the West on Russia.
Khrinin had previously confirmed that there is tangible evidence that NATO countries are preparing their infrastructure and forces for war, pointing out that his country cannot ignore the militarization of its western neighbors and is working to establish deterrence measures.
