Irit and Aviv set the wedding date before they knew that the elections would fall on that date • Despite the pressure and excitement, they did not forget to go to the polls • And what about the sample? "Maybe it will be broadcast on a huge screen at the wedding," says Aviv

Getting married on election day:

Irit, who works in a store for birthday accessories, and Aviv Hazan, an army man from Acre, got married on election day.

Despite the pressure on the wedding day, the excited couple went to the polls to fulfill their civic duty.

Aviv told Israel Hayom: "We have been together for three years. A year ago we decided to get married, and right next to the decision we set the date for the event. We didn't know it would come out exactly on election day, it's completely coincidental."

As for the couple's reaction when they learned that the wedding event was taking place on election day, Aviv said: "We were delighted. It's the Sabbath, people are off, and they can organize themselves and not be under pressure to return from work.

"As for the fact that they won't come - we had a concern. There are people, for example, who work in the elections, but we realized that those who are important to be at our event - will reject the other plans.

"We won't mind people being updated during the wedding. I would also like to be updated, and I would love to know the results of the sample, as much as my head is in it," he said with a smile.

"Maybe we will broadcast the sample on a huge screen at the wedding."

As mentioned, the couple did not give up the right to vote.

"It was unequivocally clear to us that we would vote. We voted after we organized and after we met. This is our democratic right, and it was clear to us that we would not give it up."

Regarding voting, he said: "We are both coordinated at the ballot box. We vote for the same bloc, but not for the same party."
