The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has expressed its concern over the grave violations of children's rights in Haiti, calling for immediate action to save their lives amid the threat of cholera, malnutrition and violence.
The United Nations News Center quoted the organization as saying that nearly 100,000 children under the age of five suffer from severe acute malnutrition, noting that malnourished children are more at risk of cholera outbreaks, in addition to the rights of children to life, education, safe drinking water and sanitation.
