Inflation, the number one subject of the “midterms” campaign, to the great regret of Joe Biden, is experienced differently depending on whether one lives in Arizona or in Massachusetts.

In the first state, the price increase from January 2021 to September 2022 is 16%.

In the second, only 11%, for a national average of 13.5%.

In this immense federation of 9 million square kilometers (more than fifteen times the size of France) and 332 million inhabitants, national statistics often mask strong disparities between States.

To see more clearly with regard to inflation before the electoral deadline of this November 8, the economic commission common to the two chambers of Congress calculates every month the additional income that an average household must find if it wishes to keep its purchasing power of January 2021, the date of Joe Biden's arrival at the White House.
