It is in this spirit that the Senate's fact-finding mission on the fight against tax evasion delivered its report on November 2, proposing improvements to the 2018 anti-fraud law. However, certain elements of this report are puzzling.
For a long time, the public authorities have presented the fight against tax evasion as the quest for a hidden treasure whose yield would be infinitely expandable, a miracle solution for cleaning up our public finances.
Thus, the report welcomes a
“trend increase since 2018, after several years of worrying decline in the yield of tax audits”
