The winning ticket for the massive $2.04 billion Powerball Grand Prize -- roughly $997.6 million in cash -- was sold in Altadena, California, according to a press release from the contest.
"There was a Grand Prize winning ticket in the California lottery!" the statement read.
"The estimated Grand Prize was $2.04 billion ($997.6 million cash)."
The winning Powerball numbers for this Monday's drawing were released this Tuesday just before 10 am ET.
The numbers were: 10, 33, 41, 47, 56, and the Powerball number was 10, according to an update on the Powerball website.

The prize made a lucky Californian a billionaire, the largest prize in history.
"California Lottery Makes Its FIRST Billionaire Ever!" the state lottery said in a tweet.
"One lucky ticket sold at Joe's Service Center in Altadena matched all 6 numbers in the #Powerball drawing on November 7th. The final jackpot amount for this drawing came to $2.04 BILLION dollars."

The jackpot was already a record $1.9 billion but grew to $2.04 billion before Monday's drawing, the Multi-State Lottery Association said in a statement, "making it the world's largest lottery jackpot." just as its organizers intended when they changed the odds in 2015.

The announcement of Tuesday's winning numbers came after officials delayed Monday night's drawing, when a participating lottery needed more time to process its sales and game data, the association added in a statement, echoing from an earlier statement from the California Lottery, which said a lottery needed additional time to complete necessary security protocols.
Neither statement identified which state had yet to complete the protocols, but California officials said the problem was not due to their lottery.

All 48 participating lotteries must submit their sales and plays before winning numbers can be selected, the association said late Monday.
"Powerball has strict security requirements to protect the integrity of the game and remains committed to conducting a drawing that gives all players a fair chance to win," the association said.
“Like the rest of the United States, Powerball is eager to hold its world record jackpot drawing,” the association said in a follow-up statement Tuesday morning before the drawing, “however, protecting the integrity of the draw is of paramount importance, even if it means further delay,” the statement said early Tuesday, urging players to keep their tickets.
"Thanks to our players for their patience," he added.
"We hope to get the winning numbers as soon as possible."
