Eintracht Braunschweig played in Regensburg on Wednesday evening without eight players.
Nevertheless, the climber earned a point.
Regensburg - Eintracht Braunschweig got an important away point in the tight relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga.
Without eight injured or rested players, the promoted team fought a 1-1 (1-1) draw at direct competitor Jahn Regensburg on Wednesday evening.
Charalambos Makridis put the hosts ahead in the 11th minute.
However, Lion Lauberbach equalized just three minutes later after good work from Robin Krausse (14').
The Braunschweiger have been badly shaken in the last week before the World Cup break.
After defender Brian Behrendt, playmaker Immanuel Pherai and goalscorer Anthony Ujah, Nathan de Medina was also absent in Regensburg.
The Belgian defender broke his metacarpal hand in the 1-0 defeat by Greuther Fürth.
Ron-Thorben Hoffmann also played in goal instead of regular keeper Jasmin Fejzic.
Eintracht coped with the major injury problems just as well as the early deficit and showed a very committed performance.
The defensive barely allowed Regensburg chances.
Up front, Lauberbach even missed the great opportunity to take the lead shortly before the break (45+1).
The Lower Saxony only had luck in the 65th minute when a goal by Jahn striker Andreas Albers was disallowed again after video evidence was used.
Maximilian Thalhammer was just offside during preparatory work.
