The Peace Makers Development Association held its annual closing ceremony “Victors in Peace” for the sixth year in a row, on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, and under the slogan “Ending racism and building peace”.

The concert, which included a group of paragraphs, began with a promo introducing me to the association and its activities, in addition to a choir and heritage paragraphs from the Syrian governorates, such as the song “Ya Mahla Al Fasha and Hunting Al Asari, and where do I start, my heart, and this is the color of brown.”

An interactive theatrical performance was presented that sheds light on a societal issue that talks about marginalized groups in society, such as people with disabilities, in addition to a final choir segment for a group of songs that talk about peace, including “Helwa Ya Baladi and Lulali” and a patriotic song “One Hand Until We Rise.”

The participants are volunteers in the association, young amateurs ranging in age from 18 to 30 years old.

In an interview with SANA's reporter, Ben Mohammed Tarifi, the association's board chairman, said that the campaign, which coincides with the celebrations of the International Day of Peace, is an occasion to focus on the need to strive with all energies to bring peace to the world, where the association's activities and various activities are launched.

Maysoon Dekka, a member of the association's board of directors, explained the importance of these activities, which focus on the active role of youth in community development, reviving heritage, and helping young people to create a safe environment to express their ideas and opinions and try to shed light on people with disabilities.

In her turn, Eng. Lynn Deribati, Secretary of the Society and a founding member of the Board of Directors, demonstrated the Society's keenness to build young people and empower them to be active members of their society.

Samira Attia, participating in the theatrical performance, indicated that disability does not stand as a barrier or an obstacle to showing talent, but rather challenges circumstances and constitutes a great incentive to show and prove her talent and personality.

Ghinwa Muhammad and Rama Younis also expressed their happiness with the work and activities of the association, which cares and emphasizes overcoming difficulties, proving one's abilities, refining them well, and not giving in to circumstances, no matter how harsh.
