A 39-year-old man was arrested on November 2 in the city of Warren (39,000 inhabitants), 56 miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio, after a police chase that ended in a child care center, as captured in the cameras of officers involved, which show the fear suffered by the children.

After colliding, the man, identified as Lamar Mitchell, abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot from the agents, who tried to stop him using a stun gun.

He ended up breaking into the Precious Times child care center, despite an employee trying to close the door, followed closely by the police.

The suspect walked into a class with several children, where he was stopped by officers wielding his stun gun.

Local station Cleveland 19 spoke with the mother of a 1-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl who were at the center at the time of the incident.

“I was at work and I dropped everything to run over there,” she explained, “I wish they had never been through this.”

The woman, who was not identified by the local station, assures that her daughter is now suffering from post-traumatic stress: “A fire truck passed by the road the other day and she was sitting on the porch with me and she covered herself with a blanket and began to trembling and screaming that she had to hide because the police were going to catch her”, she explained, “now they terrify her, I have tried to explain to her that she has nothing to fear, that they are here to protect her”.
