Disaster in Bat Yam at noon:
a 50-year-old man died today (Wednesday) in a fire that broke out in an apartment on Jerusalem Street.
MDA medics and paramedics reported a man who was found in the apartment without signs of life with burns on his body. The circumstances are being investigated.
A senior medic at the MDA, Shamil Bachar, said: "When we arrived, we joined the fire brigade who were working on the scene and extinguished the fire. They led him to a 50-year-old man lying unconscious and suffering from severe burns on his body.
We performed medical tests, he was without signs of life and we had to pronounce him dead on the spot."
