Luis Enrique gives the list of Spain for the World Cup without Sergio Ramos or Aspas 1:43
(CNN Spanish) -
The coach of the Spanish soccer team, Luis Enrique Martínez, announced on Friday, November 11, the 26 called up for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. On November 18, the team announced the call for the left back of FC Barcelona, Alejandro Balde, to replace Jose Luis Gayà due to injury.
Among the most important discards are defender Sergio Ramos and forward Iago Aspas.
Among the surprises, the presence of the FC Barcelona striker, Ansu Fati, who had fallen out of the calls for the matches corresponding to the League of Nations in September, and that of the Athletic Club winger, Nico Williams, who precisely made his debut in these matches in September and has managed to consolidate for the world championship.
"I have a 'macanuda' list. There are players who have been left out who could be," Luis Enrique said during a press conference after the announcement.
"I am fully convinced that we are going to fight," he said.

Which Spanish players are left out of Qatar 2022?
Perhaps the most notorious discard is that of defender Sergio Ramos, who had not been called up for the national team since the match against Kosovo in March 2021. Luis Enrique has since opted for central defenders such as Eric García, Laporte, Pau Torres, even the recently incorporated Hugo Guillamón or the winger César Azpilicueta, who can also play in said demarcation.

Ramos, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is 36 years old.
His absence in the selection is already discussed in networks.
Achraf Hakimi, Ramos' fellow Moroccan player at PSG, reacted to the announcement with a simple message on his Twitter account:
Sergio Ramos Best defend in the world 👏🏽

Real Club Celta de Vigo striker Iago Aspas will also miss the World Cup, as will Betis striker Borja Iglesias, who was one of the attackers Luis Enrique brought to the final games before the World Cup in September.
Finally, Spain will have Alvaro Morata as a pure center forward, but with the possibility of using players like Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati or Dani Olmo as a false 9 or 9 with greater mobility.
Neither is Gerard Piqué, who had entered a pre-list before announcing his retirement from football last week.
