The police custody of the man suspected of having raped a 96-year-old woman on Saturday at her home in Toulouse has been lifted, public prosecutor Samuel Vuelta Simon said on Sunday.
"
There is nothing to consider him as the author of the facts
," he said.
The investigation into aggravated rape continues.
Saturday morning, shortly before 8 a.m., a home nurse surprised a man when he arrived at a nonagenarian patient.
After having put him to flight, she had warned the police.
The 96-year-old woman claimed to have been raped.
A man, arrested a few moments later, had been taken into custody.
On Saturday, the doctors confirmed traces of violence.
