Tiffany & Co launches its special Andy Warhol advent calendar

2022-11-21T11:48:33.643Z

After last year's punchy edition dedicated to Basquiat, the American house pays tribute to another of its star collaborators. All still in king size format for an exceptional Christmas.

It was already a year ago.

Tiffany & Co extended the surprise effect of its campaign with Beyoncé & Jay-Z posing in front of a painting in Tiffany blue by Basquiat to dedicate an extraordinary advent calendar to her.

But how to compete with this unexpected brilliance?

Quite simply by immersing oneself in the archives of the New York house, which are so rich in collaboration.

And in this game, a name stands out: Andy Warhol.

No pop art or serial portrait here, but a series of illustrated greeting cards that the artist had produced especially for Tiffany from 1957 to 1962 (see example below).

A festive spirit that we find today on this collector's advent calendar (part of the profits of which will be donated to the Andy Warhol Foundation) where each day of the month of December hides a set of plates, jewelry, cards, ornaments or porcelain bearing the signature of the deceased artist.

Not to mention other even more precious surprises.

Meanwhile, Andy Warhol's works continue to reach highs at auction, like the painting "White Disaster" which reached more than 85 million dollars on November 16 at Sotheby's New York.

A legend of art who still and always makes (more) revenue.
