Donetsk - SANA

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Donetsk People's Republic Vladimir Bedyovka stressed today that Europe turned a blind eye to Ukraine's actions, including the massacre of prisoners of war.

TASS news agency quoted Bedyovka as saying on his Telegram channel that the positions taken by those countries that position themselves as a bulwark of the struggle for humankind encourage Nazism in Ukraine as well as war crimes.

In turn, the Russian Duma called on the parliaments of all countries to condemn the crimes of the Kyiv regime, and stressed in a letter that the deliberate killing of prisoners of war is a “flagrant violation” by Ukraine of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Convention for the Treatment of Prisoners of War of 1949, and international human rights standards, including Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Punishment 1984.

The Russian Investigative Committee had earlier opened a criminal case regarding the mass execution of captured Russian soldiers at the hands of the Ukrainian forces, as this appeared in a video tape showing that the Ukrainian army shot at least 11 unarmed Russians who were captured in the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic.
