Jazz singer Julia Schröter and her band made for a magical evening in the Lindenkeller.
There was also a very special listener.
Freising
– magically radiant like an early Christmas present: Without a doubt, that was the recent CD release concert by Julia Schröter in the Lindenkeller lower house.
With a lot of verve and even more Blue Note, Schröter bowed charmingly to Ella Fitzgerald and the other unforgettable greats of the famous jazz clubs and confirmed one thing again: Schröter is and will remain Freising's number 1 jazz voice.
140 Schröter fans came despite strong Uferlos competition
Already the opener "In a Sentimental Mood" hinted at something big: a daring prelude, quiet and powerful at the same time, only saxophone and voice, more jazz isn't really possible anymore.
But of course there was even more jazz, which Schröter proved brilliantly when she presented her debut album "Happy Clown" to the Freisingers.
Around 140 Schröter fans came to the Lindenkeller despite the strong Uferlos contrast program - or as Fritz Andresen put it at the box office: "It's jam-packed today!" And in fact the search for a good seat was a difficult one, also because it was of course a long time ago got around that Schröter is a stunning live act - especially in the jazz genre.
And it's just in her blood, as if she had inhaled Fitzgerald's oeuvre and then exhaled that very special Schröter sound.
The band blasts each song to a climax
But what must also be attested to her: her own works, such as the title song "Happy Clown", which she wrote together with Matthias Huber, have drive and do not have to fear the famous jazz standards.
So there were no breaks between the works, but actually only light joints of their unbelievable stage charisma, which made the Lindenkeller shine after a few seconds - as did the audience.

With on stage her grandiose band, which was perfectly recorded and pumped up every single song to a climax - Matthias Huber on saxophone and flute, Stephan Weiser on piano, Heiko Jung on bass and Stephan Treutter, a cult drummer from Freising, on drums.
Shortly before the concert, Schröter had to tremble
In the best jazz tradition, the whole concert became a total work of art, a Blue Note narrative in the subtext that dealt with life and love.
"Feeling in my Stomach", another original composition that went effortlessly to the heart, supplemented by "Lush Life" and "Black Coffee" - no question, regional jazz history was rewritten in the Lindenkeller.

A few days ago, Schröter was still trembling as to whether her album would even come out of the pressing plant on time, as she said – and was delighted that it had worked out after all.
Fortunately, because the CD sold like hot cakes after the concert.
The CD that she later dedicated to a very special person on stage - namely her grandmother, who came to the concert at the age of 98 to hear her Julia sing.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Like the remaining 139 Freisingers who, after the encore and thunderous applause, streamed home well after 10 p.m. and could be sure that they had been at a concert that brought jazz back to Freising.
