A humanitarian worker from the French NGO Solidarités internationale was killed in an ambush by an armed group in northern Mozambique hit by jihadist violence for more than five years, AFP learned from the organization on Tuesday.

on Sunday on a road in the district of Muidumbe towards Palma, in the province of Cabo Delgado, writes the NGO in a press release.
A spokeswoman told AFP that the victim was of Mozambican nationality.
