Aleppo-SANA
Writer Samar Yaghi signed her poetry collection Zagazat in the fifth chapter during a ceremony organized by the Directorate of Culture in Aleppo in cooperation with the Istanbul House for Printing, Publishing and Distribution within the book fair at the National Book House in Aleppo.
Poet Yaghi stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the poetry collection is her third literary production after the two previous published collections (In the Presence of Twilight and Poems Without Alcohol).
During the ceremony, the head of the Intellectual Property Protection Department, Muhammad Somaya, presented a critical reading of the poetry collection, during which he spoke about three axes, indicating that the first axis in which the poet spoke in the language of her condition about Aleppo al-Shahba, while in the second axis she spoke in the language of the situation of Aleppo and the horrors of the unjust war that took place there. The third axis includes a variety of sentimental poems.
Somaya explained that the most prominent features of the poetic experience of the poet Yaghi are complete liberation from the prosody cage and confinement to the modernist text (prose poem) only, complete liberation from traditional rhyme and narration, almost complete distance in all texts from directness and rhetoric, and the use of amazing artistic images and fertile imagination.
The ceremony included participation in a critical reading by the poet Miz'al Al-Maz'al, who presented and moderated the dialogue. Miral Al-Shehna also gave a critical intervention that enriched the ceremony in a different way.
