The Peruvian Congress voted to oust President Pedro Castillo after it tried today (Wednesday) to dissolve Congress and establish a temporary government of experts, in a move seen by lawmakers as an attempted coup.
The legislators voted to impeach the president with an amazing majority of 101 supporters against six opponents and ten abstentions.
The result was announced to the cheers of the legislators and the president was led by the parliament guard to an office van and taken out of the place.
It is unclear at this point if 'Stilio was arrested or taken home and there are conflicting reports on his condition.

The army and the police sided with the legislators and claimed that the president's attempt to establish a narrow expert government was "unconstitutional".
The members of Castillo's government announced earlier the end of their support for him and their retirement from the government.
Vice President Dina Boluatra was temporarily appointed.
Castillo was last week summoned by Congress to answer to charges of "moral unfitness to govern" after it was alleged that he formed a "criminal organization" that profited from government districts.
The former president claimed that this was a smear campaign against him and announced that he would not appear in front of the legislature to answer the accusations.
Castillo, a socialist leftist, survived two more attempts by the opposition to oust me since he began his term in 2021. Brazil, Argentina and the United States have already announced that they will cooperate with the new president and called on the government to maintain order and the constitution.
