Do you have a build-up of black slime-like dirt in the washing machine drawer? Cleaning experts' came to the aid of a worried woman - and you will thank them too

This is how you remove and clean the washing machine drawer (TIKTOK)

Open the drawer of your washing machine for a moment and look inside.

Most likely you will notice disgusting black spots.

After all, the stains were in an unimportant place - but when they appear in the drawer where you put the softener and washing powder intended to clean your clothes - this is already something that should not be ignored.

Those black bits of slime can be a particularly nasty build-up of bacteria, grease and mold.

Over time - and without required cleaning - your washing machine may become clogged with detergent residues and other debris, which will then become a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and mold.

Fortunately, fans of Mrs Hinch - aka cleaning guru Sophie Hinchcliffe - have found a pretty simple method to deal with this creepy fact.

On the Facebook group, Mrs. Hinch's Cleaning Tips, one cleaning enthusiast needed advice about the black grime that appeared in her washing machine drawer.

She wrote: "Hey, I need help. How can I remove this thing from the drawer inside my washing machine?".

She shared a photo showing the gray stains on the inside of the drawer.

This is how it looks.

The group members came to her aid and suggested that she use a combination of white vinegar spray and a toothbrush to scrub off the slime.

One wrote: "I spray white vinegar in there, leave it for 10 minutes and then use a bottle brush to clean the space. Then I spray the area with water to rinse."

Another added: "I put white vinegar in the drawer every time I wash and it keeps it clean."

Another user suggested: "Buy a cheap toilet brush and use it instead of a toothbrush. It will make the cleaning job much easier and faster. You will reach the top, bottom and sides at the same time."

Even the queen of cleaning herself, Sophie Hinchliffe, published a series of stories on Instagram in which she demonstrated, step by step, how the washing machine should be cleaned.

The first step is to clean the area between the rubber seal and the machine with a sponge and some bathroom cleaner.

Squirt some of the cleaner on the sponge and rub the grooves in the machine, as Hinch does in the demo video.

In the video, she also shows the camera how much dirt has accumulated under the tire - and it certainly accumulated quite a bit there.

In the next step, she puts into the mouth a cork filled with baking soda powder and a glass of white vinegar.

She recommends putting in the machine, along the way, the cleaning accessories you used, such as the towel and the sponge - and running the machine for a short spin.

In the last step, while the machine is working, she passes a rag over the outside of the machine.
