Dozens of civilians were killed and hundreds displaced today as a result of terrorist attacks on the regions of Gao and Menaka, eastern Mali.
Reuters quoted a local official as saying in a statement that "a conflict took place between two terrorist groups affiliated with al-Qaeda and ISIS over lands in the regions of Gao and Menaka, which led to the killing of dozens of civilians and the displacement of hundreds."
Since 2012, Mali has been witnessing a state of instability due to armed terrorist groups affiliated with al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorists operating in the tri-border area with Niger and Burkina Faso.
