The Waidmannsheil hunting lodge in Bad Lobenstein: Since Wednesday it has been the scene of one of the largest anti-terrorist operations in the history of the Federal Republic.

At the center of the investigation: the seat of Henry XIII.

Prince Reuss.

This causes unrest in the area.

Resident, Wolfgang:

"It does worry you how often Bad Lobenstein is in the headlines and probably won't make it out this year."

Resident, Klaus Schwalbe:

“I, or certainly most of them, have nothing to do with the people, nothing at all.

What he calls himself, the 13th or the 18th. I don't care.

We really don't want anything to do with that."

The accusation against him and his accomplices: formation of a terrorist organization that wants to replace the existing state order in Germany with its own form of government.

Prince Reuss is said to have been the presumed leader.

Andree Burkhardt, Deputy Mayor:

»All the citizens of Bad Lobenstein received a letter in the summer informing us that we are not German because we do not have German passports.

And there we were given the opportunity to apply for our German certificate of origin in the domestic administration.

Of course, that has already caused an outcry among the population.«

According to the Federal Prosecutor's Office, Prince Reuss was considered the future head of state in the association.

The 71-year-old was arrested on Wednesday along with 24 suspected comrades-in-arms.

He has already attracted attention in the past with bizarre theses.

In 2019, he claimed in a speech at the "Worldwebforum" that since the Second World War Germany has no longer been a sovereign state, but is administered by the Allies.

According to media reports, the former princely house of Reuss has already distanced itself from the right-wing family member.

Most people in Bad Lobenstein also do not want to be associated with the alleged Reich citizen.

They fear for the reputation of the small town.
