This evening, the city of Homs witnessed the holding of several Christmas events on the occasion of the approaching Christmas and New Year holidays, including tree lighting, entertainment competitions, and Christmas exhibitions.
The community and youth activities in Mar Elias square in the town of Fayrouzah lit up the Christmas tree for the fourth year in a row, with the melodies of the Fayrouzah Scout Band, in the presence of the townspeople and social and religious activities.
Youssef Masouh and Asaad Basbous, the supervisors of the implementation of the Christmas tree from the Fayrouzah Youth Decoration Initiative, pointed out in a statement to SANA to the cooperation of the people and Fayrouzah youth to complete, decorate and light the tree, as it reaches a height of 19 meters, and reflects a state of joy and optimism for the advent of a new year that brings peace and goodness to the children. The lighting of the tree was accompanied by the opening of a Christmas exhibition that included handicrafts, Christmas decorations, candles, artistic figures inspired by Christmas, and various kinds of sweets and holiday hospitality.
The hall of Our Lady of Peace Church of Melkite Roman Catholics in Bustan Al-Diwan neighborhood in Old Homs hosted a Christmas exhibition that included a wide variety of exhibits, including Eid hospitality, personal and Christmas accessories, handicrafts, paintings, decorations for the Christmas tree, Eid clothes, antiques and coppers.
Ghassan Jarada, in charge of the exhibition, pointed out that this year it was distinguished by a variety of creative artistic handicrafts that competed with each other in terms of ideas, implementation, coordination, and presentation.
The second day of the (Holy Nights) celebration held by the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Al-Mahatta neighborhood also included the opening of the three-day games championships, in which more than 50 young men and women compete in ping pong, backgammon, and entertainment games.
