Brazil fell this Friday against Croatia in the tiebreaker on penalties in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar.
It is not the first time that the
canarinha
has been left out in this phase: of the 15 times it has played, counting the 2022 cup, six times it has been eliminated.
Brazil arrived in Qatar as one of the favorites to win the World Cup, qualifying first in the group stage and triumphing in the round of 16 against South Korea.
However, they lost in the tiebreaker on penalties against the Croats 4-2, after drawing 1-1 in 120 minutes, and were left out of the World Cup.
Until now, Brazil had remained undefeated against Croatia: of the four games they had played, they had won two and drawn two.
Before Qatar, Brazil reached the quarterfinals 14 times.
