Gas consumption in the European Union (EU) will have fallen by around 10% this year, to some 360 billion m3 (Bm3).
This represents nearly 50 billion m3 less than in 2021, estimates a new report from the International Energy Agency (IEA).
About 20% of this reduction is due to lower production rather than efficiency gains or switching to other fuels, the agency notes.
A series of actions have been implemented.
