Students have reported the disappearance of Ken DeLand, who came to study French at the University of Grenoble-Alpes, after several days without news.

What happened to Ken DeLand?

The Grenoble public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation for a worrying disappearance after this 22-year-old American student has not given any sign of life for several days.

He came to France to study French at the University of Grenoble-Alpes and was due to return to the United States on December 15.

Several students reported his disappearance on November 29 to the authorities after several days without news.

Departure for Valencia

The American student would have confided to several people that his departure for France had not been sufficiently prepared and that he had difficulty making friends, according to information from the prosecution cited by BFMTV.

He also mentioned his desire to go to Marseille before his departure.

According to the ABC News channel, the young American with blond hair, who measures 1m82 and weighs 86 kg, has not given any sign of life to his relatives since November 27.

He had then communicated with them via private WhatsApp messaging and had just left his accommodation to go to Valence, in the Drôme, by train.

According to father Ken DeLand, interviewed by the American channel, his son's phone rang for the last time on November 30.

It was then filmed in a Decathlon sports store in Montélimar on December 3.

In these latest images, he wore a red jacket, scarf, gray beanie, navy blue jeans and a black backpack.
