For Giscard d'Estaing the "new year will be a year of celebration".
In 2023, the partnership between Geretsried and Chamalières will be 40 years old.
"Since Claude Wolff and Heinz Schneider first met, the friendship between our two cities has grown stronger and stronger," writes the mayor in memory of the two heads of town hall, who sealed the partnership in 1983.
The connection was maintained even during the corona pandemic.
Giscard d'Estaing hopes that the 40th anniversary can be celebrated despite the necessary caution.
"Our anniversary days will be wonderful." The committee is preparing them with great joy.

The French liked their visit to Upper Bavaria
This year about 120 guests from Chamalières visited Geretsried (we reported).
The mayor also reminds of this in his Christmas letter.
"We spent wonderful days with great encounters in Bavaria." Giscard d'Estaing thanks him warmly for the welcome, "which showed us that our friendship is real".
The co-chairs, Marie-Christine Béraud and Edith Peter, would do everything in their power to create unique experiences.
The unique band also shows "how important Europe is to us".
That is why “our friends from Nickelsdorf and Pusztavám” will also take part in the anniversary celebrations in May 2023.
"On the basis of our common values we will celebrate a European festival." sw
