The day before, the head of the Serbian armies Milan Mojsilovic had been dispatched to the border with Kosovo by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, where barricades were erected by Serbs after the arrest of a former policeman.
On Wednesday, December 21, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić even said that the situation was
"on the verge of armed conflict".
On December 12, France said it was
“very concerned”
about the tensions in this territory where NATO has been present since 1999.
