The Russian Ministry of Defense reported today that it had recovered 82 Russian prisoners from the territory controlled by Kyiv forces, after negotiations with the Ukrainian authorities.
The ministry said in a statement reported by Russia Today that the released prisoners will be sent to Moscow to receive treatment and physical and psychological rehabilitation after the pressures and dangers they were exposed to in captivity.
On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the commander of the forces participating in the special military operation in Ukraine, General Sergey Surovkin, a high-ranking medal, in appreciation of what he had done.
According to the Kremlin, Putin awarded General Surovkin the Order of St. George of the third degree.
