The year 2023 will be the year of "victory" in the war against Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proclaimed Saturday in his New Year's greetings in a context of new Russian strikes on several inhabited cities, including kyiv.
“Are you longing for faith and hope?
Both have been in the (Ukrainian) armed forces for a long time (…) Do you want light?
It is in each of us, even when there is no electricity", the supply of which is severely disrupted by massive Russian bombardments, said in particular in his message on Telegram Volodymyr Zelensky, partly taken up in English on Twitter.

" Good year !
The year of our victory", he concluded, a little more than ten months after the outbreak of the invasion of his country by Russia, on February 24, 2022, calling on his compatriots to "work", to "struggle" and "mutual aid".
He had previously condemned the Russian strikes which fell on December 31, in particular on kyiv, assuring that his country "will not forgive".
Besides, the Russians will not forgive Vladimir Putin either, he said.
The Russian president for his part affirmed on Saturday for his New Year's greetings that "moral and historical correctness" was "on the side" of Russia.
He also hailed the action of the soldiers at length and called on his population to "overcome all obstacles".
